Glad to hear every workout doesn't need to be amazing and consistency is king.
Your no BS approach is why you’re still one of the best!
Hello from India
Great advice, simple and to the point. Love your videos. Have a great day everyone.
Thank you for the great work you do!
Thx for the video Al!!!
Thank you! Questions will follow soon.
Thank you!💫
Priceless advice, thanks!
The best advices anyone can give. Let's be honest, very few people have a perfect life with nothing to worry about other than working out. Having a flexible, but consistent aproach to working out, rest and nutrition makes life a lot easier.
Thanks 😊
Humbly explained
Well explained 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great tips! I much prefer the simple approach. I follow 'Get Strong', ride my bicycle to work and train karate weekly.
Thank you, Al, for the info on protein powders-glad to know I don’t need that garbage. What are some tips on dealing with program hopping / FOMO? Thank you!
Al, thanks. I am a skinny guy trying to learn calisthenics, who likes to listen to Accept. New to channel. Greetings from deep S. Texas.
Super brother u r my inspiration.
Simple staright forward advice...love the sarcasm bit at the end. Could you provide some tips for someone doing OMAD(one meal a day) how to do it and what to eat...love from India.
meat+eggs+salt+sips of coconut oil. eat untill you don't want another bite anymore. repeat the next day.
Very, very true. Consistency is one of the most important keys in any life discipline. It takes time, dedication, belief, will......
your material is great. thank you. fasting till 5 because of you. ps... i think i went to midwood high school in brooklyn with a kavadlo who looks like you, maybe a relative. --- i was in a band with him in high school briefly. blessings on your work. it's helping me.
Thanks! I have 2 brothers who went to Midwood, Danny and Jesse. I went to Murrow.
@@alkavadlojesse!!!! He was a bassist back (and an insanely awesome one) then and I played keyboards in the school show. How awesome!!! Great to know you. Your channel is great and is a role model for my own channel… focused on healing and therapy and communication, which is a workout in its own right. But I’m getting a lot from you in terms of workout and in terms of RUclips creation. .
So nice to know you!
1. What are the best exercises for cardio ? ( what do u think about kettlebell related workouts & jump ropes aka Skipping ? )
2. Tell me the best way to lose belly fat (😢) please and how to be (& stay) fit all the time.
1. Both are great exercises
2. Losing belly fat is all about diet. You cannot lose fat from just the belly, you have to lose it generally everywhere. Keto and intermittent fasting are excellent for fat loss.
Hey hey hey Al! How do you suggest balancing skill work with traditional strength work? Thanks!
Hey hey hey Al,
I understand to get good at deadlifts, you gotta’ do deadlifts, but are there any calisthenics exercises which build strength in the posterior chain and hip hinge in a comparable way? I’m not sure bridges and levers are enough to develop “picking up heavy things” strength.
Show, man! 💪💪👏😙🔥
John Loobey ,Geriatric Ninja, why do you choose lamb ? How do you feel about pork? Maybe rank sources of protein for us, by quality, and also maybe cost or bang-for-the-buck. Thanks so much Al!
💯💯
Lamb rules!
Nice backyard dude.
So much cheaper than pating a gym and suplements and it works
That fall off the monkey bars looked painful! I felt it on the other side of this video.
Hey Al, I have a quick question and would be very thankful for an answer or maybe a video ;)
Did you ever have had the corona virus? And for how long do you paused your training?
Greetings from Germany
Stay healthy folks, because I have covid currently 🥲
Sometimes you have to take a break to get back stronger I guess 💪🏻
Take it steady and ease back into your workouts. All the best for a quick recovery.
@@jameschesterton thank you James :) how long did you have paused?
It's going to be very different for everyone. I would resume your workouts as soon as you feel ready, but listen to your body carefully, you will probably have to lower your volume and intensity.
Al, this was very insightful. Although the eggs being cheap commentary didn’t age well. 😅
Hey Al, I think you’ve previously said that 1g protein per 1kg of body weight is sufficient, do you still recommend this realistic amount?
I'm editing a new video right now that will address your question. Thanks for being patient. :)
I missing a list of the Tips.
I'm not falling for Al I know you're in good shape and know what you're talkin about when it comes to calisthenics
Beans=protein Al
Is there any one exercise that does it all?
The Bridge Hold
muscleups- after I got stronger practicing ;my rotary cuffs are bulletproof. works your core, tris,chest,delts,forearms,lats,upper/midback, biceps.
If bridges and muscle-ups are not in your range yet, then try squats.
@@jameschesterton After posting the question, I came up with one. The "medicine ball burpee." Or "the hefty-rock burpee." Or "the burpee curl-and-press."
What I had on hand at that moment was a hefty rock. After the pushup part of the burpee, you pick up the weight and do a curl-and-overhead-press while standing up and jumping.
A weighted-jump-squat burpee.
With a medicine ball you could add a floor slam or wall slam.
You could also use pushup variations for the pushup part of the burpee, instead of standard pushups. Maybe spiderman pushups or alternating one-legged pushups ("scorpionman pushups") or knee-to-opposite-elbow pushups. All of those work some extra muscles, especially the last one.
@@viveviveka2651 Wow, I must give that a go. Nice
Supplements are toxic. Glad he said that. Thanks Al. Common sense inspiration.
Hey AL! Where's Ur brother Danny?)))
I just want to eat dohnuts all day.
What's wrong with protein powder? Yes, its industrial and has chemicals inside. But this doesn't make it useless. It's more a preferance-thing. But yes:... a steak is a steak is a steak. :)
The fact is this. If you are spending money on supplements, you may as well put that money to buying better sources of whole food. There are many added benefits to eating whole natural food as opposed to a man-made product, and far less side effects. Give your body what it was meant to have.
@@jameschesterton seems legit. But if i choose greek yoghurt or skyr instead, they are also industrial.
And i cannot change my morning prot-shake into a lamb steak. Ok, I could... and I would,... but i don't have the time, nor the money to do so. :D
@@Metanoia77777 A good full fat greek yoghurt is a minimally processed food (basically just milk with bacteria added), so how about this for a morning shake...
2 tablespoons greek yoghurt
3 eggs
Handful of favourite nuts
tablespoon peanut butter
1 avocado (for good fats and added consistency)
Some berries or banana if you want to sweeten it up a bit.
You have about 30g whole food protein right there, plus all of those foods are extremely nutritious in lots of other ways.
@@jameschesterton Thanks for your advice.💪🏼
I take my "meals" 4 times a day. The problem is, at 06:00 in the morning I am not hungry at all, so i do a protein shake (20g prot).
About 10:00 i eat my oatmeal, including 100g oatflakes, 50g soyflakes, 1 sp. chia, 25g nuts, 1 apple or banana, a little bit cinnamon, filled with 330ml almond milk.
At 15:30 I eat lunch, which also is my pre workout meal, containing various kinds of meat, fish, egg, lenses, with potatoes/rice/quinoa etc. and fresh salad.
Between 20:00 and 22:00, I eat either 200g low fat greek yoghurt or cottage cheese or a can tuna.
I think, my nutrition is well balanced, so I can "allow" myself my morning-starter-prot-shake. But maybe, i will change it into a greek yoghurt. My favourite one has also 20g prots on 200g and only 100kcal. That's even better than whey powder in terms of protein per kcal.
